Biscuits from Cairo

My mother recently returned from a trip to Egypt, and brought back some biscuits from a bakery she visited. They had a lovely nutty flavour and a crumbly, almost sandy texture. I suspect they were made with almond flour. I greatly enjoyed them. I intended to try them with tea, something black and unsweetened, but before I knew it a few days had passed and they'd gotten stale. No matter.
